How to Find Freelancers on goLance
goLance gives clients several tools to search for freelancers, review their experience, and contact or hire suitable candidates. Completing your Cultural Assessment first can also provide additional insights when evaluating potential hires.
Where Do I Search for Freelancers?
- Sign in to your goLance client account.
- Select Find Freelancers under Hiring on the menu on the left side of the page
- Use the search bar and filters to begin reviewing candidates.
What Can I Search For?
Use the search bar to look for freelancers by relevant keywords, such as:
- Job title or role
- Skills
- Area of expertise
- Freelancer name
Using specific search terms can help narrow the results to candidates who are more relevant to your project.
What Filters Are Available?
You can refine your search using filters such as:
- Hourly rate
- Location
- Profile type
- Skills
- Validated skills or expertise
- Total hours tracked on goLance
Filtering by tracked hours can help you identify freelancers with more experience completing hourly work through goLance.
What Information Can I Review on a Freelancer’s Profile?
Select a freelancer from the search results to open their profile.
Depending on the information they have provided, you may be able to review:
- Professional experience
- Skills and areas of expertise
- Work history
- Portfolio
- Hourly rate
- Location
- Hours worked through goLance
- Ratings or other profile details
Review the information carefully to determine whether the freelancer may be a good fit for your company or project.
What Can I Do After Finding a Freelancer?
From the freelancer’s profile, you can:
- Send them a message to ask questions or discuss an interview
- Send an offer to hire them directly
- Save their profile to review later
Before sending an offer, confirm the project requirements, payment terms, expected schedule, and any other important contract details with the freelancer.
Do I Need to Post a Job Before Contacting Someone?
Not necessarily.
You can search for freelancers directly and send a message or offer from their profile. You may also post a job if you prefer to receive applications from interested freelancers.
Why Should I Complete the Cultural Assessment?
The Cultural Assessment can provide additional information to help you compare candidates and evaluate how well they may fit your company or working environment.
It is recommended that you complete the assessment before scheduling interviews, but you can still search for freelancers without completing it.
