The Bulk Update tools allow clients to update the hourly rates or contract titles for multiple active hourly contracts at once, instead of editing each contract individually.
You can either select contracts manually or upload a CSV file, depending on how you prefer to complete the update.
Where Can I Find the Bulk Update Options?
- Sign in to your goLance client account.
- Select Contracts from the left-side menu.
- Select Hourly Contracts.
- On the Hourly Contracts page, locate the three-dot menu in the table header, on the far right beside the Status column.
- Open the menu and choose:
- Hourly Rate Bulk Update
- Contract Title Bulk Update
Important: Make sure you use the three-dot menu in the table header, not the three-dot menu beside an individual contract.
How Do I Bulk Update Hourly Rates?
From the Hourly Contracts page:
- Open the table-header three-dot menu.
- Select Hourly Rate Bulk Update.
- Choose the client or company whose contracts you want to update.
- Select Next.
You will then be asked how you want to select the contracts.
How Can I Select Contracts for a Rate Update?
You can choose between:
- Upload CSV
- Select Contracts Manually
If you choose Upload CSV, upload your file and follow the on-screen instructions.
If you want to choose the contracts individually, select Select Contracts Manually and continue.
How Do I Enter the New Hourly Rates Manually?
For each contract you want to update:
- Select an active contract.
- Review the Current Rate.
- Enter the New Rate.
- Select Add Contract if you want to update additional contracts.
You can remove a contract from the update by selecting the trash icon beside it.
Once all contracts and rates have been entered, select Next.
When Will the New Hourly Rates Take Effect?
Before you confirm the update, goLance will display the date when the new rates will take effect.
Review the information carefully, then select Confirm.
Important: Hourly rate changes generally take effect at the beginning of the next workweek. If the current workweek has already started, the updated rate will not apply to time already being worked or tracked during that week.
Can I Change Multiple Contract Titles at Once?
Yes.
From the Hourly Contracts page:
- Open the table-header three-dot menu.
- Select Contract Title Bulk Update.
- Choose the appropriate client or company.
- Select Next.
You can then choose to upload a CSV or select the contracts manually.
How Do I Update Contract Titles Manually?
After selecting Select Contracts Manually:
- Choose the contract you want to update.
- Review the Current Title.
- Enter the New Title.
- Select Add Contract to include additional contracts.
Use the trash icon to remove any contract you no longer want to update.
Once the titles are ready, select the Update Contracts button.
The button will display how many contracts are being updated, for example:
Update 3 Contracts
How Do I Know the Contract Title Update Was Successful?
After the update is processed, goLance will display a confirmation showing how many contract titles were successfully updated.
Review the confirmation before closing the page.
Can I Use a CSV Instead of Selecting Contracts Manually?
Yes.
Both bulk update tools allow you to choose Upload CSV instead of selecting each contract individually.
After selecting the CSV option:
- Upload the required file.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Review the contract changes before submitting the update.
This option can be useful when you need to update a larger number of contracts.
What Should I Review Before Submitting a Bulk Update?
Before confirming any bulk update, make sure:
- The correct client or company is selected
- The correct contracts are included
- The new hourly rates or contract titles are accurate
- Any unwanted contracts have been removed
- You have reviewed the effective date for hourly-rate changes
Bulk updates can affect several contracts at once, so review the information carefully before submitting.
