Mango AI can be added to your Slack workspace so your team can ask questions about goLance contracts, hours, payments, and platform features directly from Slack.
A Slack workspace admin only needs to install the Mango Chat app once. After installation, each teammate signs in using their own goLance account.
Who Can Install Mango AI in Slack?
A Slack workspace admin must approve and install Mango Chat for the workspace.
Mango Chat cannot join your Slack workspace until an administrator approves it.
How Do I Install Mango Chat?
The installation takes three steps.
While signed in to Slack as a workspace admin, open the Mango Chat installation link:

- Review the permissions and select Allow.
What Slack Permissions Does Mango Chat Request?
During installation, Slack displays the permissions requested by Mango Chat.
These can include permission to:
- Read content in channels and conversations where Mango Chat has been added
- Read basic workspace information
- Reply in direct messages and threads
Review the permissions shown by Slack before approving the installation.
How Does My Team Start Using Mango After Installation?
Once Mango Chat has been installed:
- Open Agents in Slack.
- Select Installed Agents.
- Search for Mango Chat.
- Sign in with your own goLance account.
- Start asking Mango questions.
Each teammate signs in individually. There is no shared goLance login for the workspace.
Does Everyone See the Same goLance Information?
No.
Mango uses the goLance roles and permissions of the person asking the question.
For example:
- A team manager only sees contracts for the teams they are allowed to access.
- Payment information is only shown to users whose goLance role includes access to that information.
Installing Mango Chat in Slack does not give users additional access to goLance data.
What Can I Ask Mango in Slack?
You can ask Mango about your goLance account as well as how goLance features work.
Examples include:
- “Show me new contracts this week.”
- “Who hasn't logged any hours this week?”
- “How do I send a bonus?”
The Slack integration also supports voice clips and scheduled messages, such as requesting a weekly summary every Monday at 9:00.
Can Mango Chat Be Removed From Slack?
Yes.
Slack workspace admins can remove Mango Chat from the workspace at any time through the Slack app settings.
Individual teammates can also disconnect their own goLance accounts.
