The Send an Offer feature allows clients to send a contract offer directly to a contractor on goLance.
You can create an:
- Hourly offer
- Fixed Price offer
- Recurring Payment offer
Once the contractor accepts the offer, the corresponding contract is created using the terms included in the offer.
How Do I Start an Offer?
- Sign in to your goLance client account.
- Select Quick Actions from the left-side menu.
- Select Send an Offer.
- Choose the type of offer you want to send:

What Is an Hourly Offer?
An Hourly offer is used when the contractor will be paid based on the number of hours they work.
After selecting Hourly, complete the Send Hourly Offer form.
How Do I Select a Contractor for an Hourly Offer?
Use the Contractor field to search for a contractor by name or email address.
If the contractor does not already have a goLance account, select Invite Off-Platform User and enter their:
- Email address
- First name
- Last name
The contractor will receive an invitation to create a goLance account for free.
If you selected the wrong person, use Change Contractor to choose someone else.

- Hire on Behalf of: Select the company associated with the contract.

Under Contract Dates, enter the Start Date and choose how the contract should end.
You can select:
- Ongoing: The contract remains active until it is manually closed.
- Set Date: Select a specific end date.
You may also be able to select Set Historical Start Date when applicable.
If an end date is established, the contract will automatically close on that date.
How Do I Set the Hourly Rate?
Enter the contractor's hourly Rate in the applicable field.
Before sending the offer, review the rate carefully to make sure it matches the terms you agreed to with the contractor.

Depending on how you want the contract to operate, you can configure options such as:
- Set Weekly Hours Limit: Limits the maximum number of hours the contractor can log each week.
- Allow Freelancer to Add Time Manually: Allows the contractor to add authorized time without tracking it through goMeter.
- Allow Your Freelancer to Submit Manual Invoices: Allows the contractor to submit invoices manually.
Configure these options based on how you want the contractor to track and bill their work.
How Do I Choose Who Pays the goLance Fee?
Use the Total goLance Fee slider to determine how the service fee is divided between you and the contractor.
The summary displayed below the slider shows how your selected split affects:
- The amount charged to the client
- The amount the contractor receives
Review the summary before sending the offer.
What Should I Include in the Offer Description?
Use the Description field to explain the work being offered.
Consider including:
- Scope of work
- Responsibilities
- Deliverables
- Expectations
- Other important contract details
You can format the description or select Generate with AI for assistance creating it.
You can also:
- Attach files by dragging and dropping them or selecting Browse
- Add an optional Message to Contractor
When everything is ready, select Send Offer.
What Is a Fixed Price Offer?
A Fixed Price offer is used when payment is based on a predefined project budget or milestones rather than hours worked.
From Send an Offer, select Fixed Price.
How Do I Create a Fixed Price Offer?
First, search for the contractor by name or email address. If they are not already on goLance, select Invite Off-Platform User.
Then:
- Select the appropriate company under Hire on Behalf of.
- Enter the offer Title.
- Configure the project budget.
- Choose the goLance fee split.
- Add the offer description and any optional attachments or messages.
- Select Send Offer.
How Do I Set the Budget for a Fixed Price Offer?
Under Budget, choose how you want to estimate the project cost.
You can select:
- Estimate your budget for the entire project
- Estimate your budget for each milestone

- Contractor: Search by name or email, or invite an off-platform user.

- Payment Cycle (Frequency): Choose how often payments should occur.

How Do I Choose When Recurring Payments End?
Under Ends, choose when the recurring payment schedule should stop.
You can end the schedule:
- On a specific date
- After a specified number of payments
The form will display a summary showing the number of payments and total amount based on your selections.

Yes.
Use the Total goLance Fee slider to determine how the service fee will be divided between you and the contractor.

- Select Generate with AI for help creating the description

When all required information has been entered, select Send Offer.
