Posting a job on goLance allows you to connect with freelancers based on your project requirements, skills, location preferences, and company culture. You can create a job from scratch, use AI to generate it, or reuse a previous job or template.
How Do I Start Posting a Job?
- Sign in to your goLance client account.
- Select Quick Actions (+) from the left-side menu.
- Select Post a Job.
- Choose who you are posting the job on behalf of:
- Your personal account
- One of your companies
You will then be asked how you would like to create your job.
What Are My Options for Creating a Job?
goLance provides three options:
- Create from Scratch: Build the job post yourself and enter all of the details manually.
- Use AI Template: Provide some basic information and let AI generate a job post for you.
- Use Previous Job: Reuse information from a previous job or an existing template.
Choose whichever method works best for the position you are posting.
Why Am I Being Asked to Complete a Cultural Assessment?
If you have not completed a Cultural Assessment, you may be prompted to complete one before continuing.
The assessment helps define your company culture and can be compared with candidates' Cultural Assessment results to help you evaluate how well they may fit your organization.
How Do I Create a Job From Scratch?
Select Create from Scratch to enter all of the job details yourself.
You will be guided through six steps:
- Job Title and Description
- Job Type and Budget
- Preferred Location, Skills, and Candidate Questions
- Targeted Assessments
- Job Visibility and Additional Details
- Review and Publish
What Should I Include in My Job Title and Description?
Enter a clear Job Title that accurately describes the position.
In the Job Description, include relevant information such as:
- Responsibilities
- Requirements
- Expected work
- Qualifications
- Other information candidates should know before applying
You can also attach files if there are documents or materials that candidates should review.
What Is the Difference Between an Hourly and Fixed-Price Job?
When creating your job, select the appropriate category and subcategory and then choose how the freelancer will be paid.
Hourly Rate
Choose Hourly Rate when the freelancer will be paid based on the number of hours worked. Hourly jobs use goMeter to track time and activity.
You can specify:
- Expected hours
- Estimated hourly rate
- An hourly rate range
Fixed Price
Choose Fixed Price when you want to pay a predetermined amount for a project or completed milestones.
Enter the Estimated Budget for the project.
Can I Choose Which Freelancers I Want to Apply?
You can define preferences to help target the right candidates.
These may include:
- Preferred country or countries
- Required professional skills
- Questions that candidates must answer
Candidate questions can be:
- Text-based: The freelancer submits a written response.
- Video-based: The freelancer records a video response as part of their application.
Can I Require Candidates to Complete Assessments?
Yes. You can add targeted assessments to your job post.
If you select an assessment, candidates will need to complete it before they can submit their proposal. Assessments contain approximately 15 questions.
What Is the Difference Between a Public and Private Job?
When setting your job visibility, you can choose:
- Public: The job can appear in goLance search results, allowing freelancers to discover and apply to it.
- Private: The job will not appear publicly in search results. You can use this option when you want to invite specific or external freelancers to apply.
You can also assign the job to a specific company team and choose whether to hide the job creator's name.
How Do I Create a Job Using AI?
Select Use AI Template if you want goLance to help generate the job post.
The process has three steps:
- Describe what you are hiring for. Provide a few sentences explaining the position and candidate you need. You can also select preferred locations and job visibility.
- Confirm the title, type, and budget. Review the automatically suggested category and subcategory, select hourly or fixed-price, and enter the appropriate budget information.
- Review and publish. AI generates the job based on the information you provided. Review all fields before posting.
After reviewing the suggested information, select Generate Job to create the post.
Can I Edit the Information Generated by AI?
Yes.
On the Review and Publish page, select the pencil icon beside any field you want to change.
Review the AI-generated information carefully before selecting Post Job.
How Do I Reuse a Previous Job or Template?
Select Use Previous Job.
- Open the drop-down menu in the Select a template or your previous job window.
- Choose the job or template you want to reuse.
- Select Create Job.
- Review the automatically populated information.
- Use the pencil icons to make any necessary changes.
- Select Post Job.
Can I Review or Edit My Job Before Publishing It?
Yes. Regardless of how you create the job, review all information before publishing.
On the Review and Publish page, select the pencil icon beside a field to make changes. When everything is correct, select Post Job.
Why Is My Job Post Still Under Review?
A newly submitted job post may need to be reviewed before it becomes available to freelancers.
If your job continues to show as Under Review after some time, contact goLance Support directly so the team can review its status.
You can contact Support:
- Through the support chatbot at the bottom of the page when logged in to goLance.
- By emailing help@golance.com.
What Happens After My Job Is Posted?
Once your job is posted, freelancers can find and apply based on the visibility and requirements you selected.
- Public jobs may appear in goLance search results.
- Private jobs can be shared with or used to invite specific freelancers.
Any questions or assessments you added will become part of the application process.
