As a client, you can monitor the activity and behavior of your freelancers using goLance tools to ensure transparency and productivity.
Screenshots
When the goMeter is active, screenshots are captured at random intervals (approximately every 10 minutes). You can review a full day of activity by accessing your freelancer’s Work Diary.
The goMeter also tracks:
- A minute-by-minute breakdown of mouse clicks and keystrokes
- Screenshots across multiple monitors
You can click on any screenshot to view it in greater detail and better understand the work being performed.
Activity Percentage
For each 10-minute interval, the system calculates an activity percentage based on mouse clicks and keyboard strokes.
Keep in mind that lower activity levels do not always indicate an issue. For example, activity may be lower if the freelancer is:
- Attending a meeting
- Watching a video
- Reading or reviewing content
Identifying Suspicious Activity
Certain patterns may warrant closer review, depending on the nature of the work:
- Repeated screenshots showing consistently high activity (e.g., 100%) combined with unusually high keystroke counts (e.g., over 1700)
- A high number of mouse clicks with little to no keyboard activity
These indicators do not always mean misuse, but they may be worth investigating further. The example below shows a high amount of keystrokes with little to no mouse clicks is a red flag.
