While disputes are uncommon, there may be situations where a client and freelancer encounter issues during a project. In most cases, the best approach is open communication—discuss the issue, identify what went wrong, and work together toward a resolution.
If an agreement cannot be reached, goLance offers a formal dispute process to help resolve the matter.
Dispute Eligibility
The dispute process is available only if:
- There is an active goLance contract between the client and freelancer
- The disputed time was tracked using the goMeter for that contract
How the Dispute Process Works
Both parties will be asked to provide:
- A detailed description of the issue
- Supporting evidence (e.g., screenshots, documents, or conversation logs)
A dedicated goLance investigation team will review the case and make a final decision.
- The winning party will be charged a 5% fee of the total disputed amount
- Once the dispute is resolved, neither party will be able to leave a review for the other
Tips for Managing Disputes
- Remain polite and professional
- Focus on finding a constructive resolution
- Provide clear, objective evidence to support your case
